San Antonio to La Presa Hike and Lunch at La Frontera

Level: moderate

Duration of hike: 3.5 hours

Distance: 7.25 miles

Elevation gain: 445 ft elevation gain

Lunch: included

This is a beautiful trek, with a mix of sun and shade that starts in town and takes you through lower San Antonio, through the muraled walls of the walking underpass to cross the highway, into the Colonia Las Bresas, through some gorgeous countryside, down the mesquite lined dirt roads of lower Los Frailes, through 2 parks, past the parakeet tree (named after the thousands of parakeets that call it home) to La Presa. On the way back, we will pass a goregeous mosaic Gaudi inspired house.

It’s accessible easily from town!

This mostly flat hike also includes a lunch at one of San Antonio's speak easy style restaraunts. La Frontera, located on Refugio, one block from where we start, is a favorite amongst visitors and locals alike. The menu is mexican and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming.
