Permaculture Lunch & Learn 

Join the SMA Permaculture Group as we tour a local sustainable farm to fall in love with growing while giving back. 

Armonia EcoVilla El Batan, located 30 minutes outside of the town of San Miguel in the countryside, sits on the Rio Laja, has a tilapia pond that waters the gardens, a small flock of chickens, 5 sheep, 1 goat, 3 composting systems and is fully sustainable with solar power and biodigestors for the sewage. 

Please join us as we all learn together how to create sustainable gardens, how to grow food while stregthening the soil, how to protect food from insects and how to apply permaculture techniques to your own property, whether big or small. 

Get to know the other permaculture fans in the greater San Miguel area to build a network of support, people to go to with questions, for friendships or for trades. 

 

This monthly event will be the group walking around our EcoVilla property with an explanation of all of our processes. It will be more of a conversation in which I share what we are doing but welcome and encourage you to share what you know about how it can be done better.
 
The space is in a transformative process so many of the discussions will cover what was before, what is now and what is the future. 
 
 
Lunch is a traditional Mexican Comida prepared by Hilda, our housekeeper and local woman to the canyon. The menu is cheese or chicken enchiladas, rice, beans, salad, salsa and jamaica water. We have adjustments available if you are vegan, vegetarian or keto, upon request ahead of time.
 

The cooperation fee covers the food, paying our wonderful cook and for the booking software's fee so that I can keep track of everyone's dietary requests and ride situations. :)

10: Arrive at location. Tour/Information Exchange begins

12: Lunch Service

1: Depart EcoVilla El Batan to return to City Market in San Miguel

130: Retrurn to City Market
